ANDOVER TOWN MILL FOR SALE

Advertised in The Salisbury & Winchester Journal on 18 July 1842

 

 

A valuable water corn-mill & other premises, to be sold at public auction by Messrs. Criswick and Sutton at Catherine Wheel Inn, Andover, on Friday, the 29th day July 1842, at four o'clock in the afternoon (unless previously disposed of by Private Contact of which due notice will be given).  All those valuable and extensive Premises called "THE TOWN MILL" situate close to Bridge street, in the preferable part of the Town of Andover.  The premises comprise a commodious Dwelling house and powerful Water-mill driving two pairs of French Stones.  With convenient Stabling, Piggeries, Walled-in-Garden well stocked with choice fruit trees, and a small paddock attached.  A considerable sum of money has within the last few years been laid out on the premises, which are in a state of excellent repair.  The Machinery of the Mill has been erected within the last twelve mouths, and is upon an improved principle, and of great power.  The Property is held by Lease under the Trustees of the Andover Charities for three good lives, at the yearly rent of 21s.  Further particulars may be known on application to Harry Footner, Solicitor, Andover.
